BizCollab is a marketplace connecting businesses facing AI-related challenges with verified AI experts who can help solve them. Businesses post specific hurdles they're facing, and AI experts pay to unlock and contact the business — creating a pay-per-lead model that monetises expert access rather than charging businesses.
The platform required a unique transaction model, professional verification workflows, smart matching, and trusted expert profiles. We delivered the full platform on Sharetribe in 1 week.
The Challenges
BizCollab required a completely non-standard Sharetribe transaction model alongside professional verification, intelligent matching, and enterprise-grade trust features.
Pay-per-hurdle model — AI experts pay a fee to unlock and contact the business that posted a hurdle, reversing the typical marketplace payment flow
LinkedIn login — professional authentication via LinkedIn for a credible, business-grade sign-up experience
Document upload for verification — experts upload credentials and certifications during onboarding for platform-level verification
Smart matching algorithm — whenever a new hurdle is posted, the system automatically matches it with relevant AI experts and sends them an email notification
Verified badges — experts who complete the verification process receive a visible badge on their profile, building trust with businesses
Our Approach
The core challenge was engineering the pay-per-hurdle model — a completely custom transaction flow on Sharetribe where AI experts pay to unlock access to a posted business challenge. This reverses Sharetribe's default buyer-pays model and required custom transaction process engineering from the ground up.
LinkedIn login was integrated as the primary authentication method — aligning with the professional nature of the platform and reducing signup friction for both businesses and AI experts. Document upload was built into the expert onboarding flow, allowing the platform operator to review credentials before granting verified badge status on expert profiles.
The smart matching algorithm was built to automatically analyse each new hurdle posted and match it with relevant AI experts based on skills, expertise, and availability. Matched experts receive an automated email notification — driving engagement and reducing the time between a hurdle being posted and an expert responding.
