Project overview
GrooveBay is a peer-to-peer vinyl marketplace built for the Netherlands market, connecting vinyl collectors and sellers in one dedicated platform. The client needed to extend their existing Sharetribe platform with local payment methods, a smarter checkout experience, and an integrated shipping solution that matched how Dutch buyers and sellers actually operate.
We delivered all three in under 2 weeks — with iDeal payments, a single vendor cart for multi-item checkout, and full PostNL shipping integration, resulting in 100+ users and 300+ vinyl listings on the platform.
The Challenges
GrooveBay needed three specific extensions to make the platform work for the Dutch vinyl market — none of which are available in Sharetribe out of the box.
iDeal payment integration — the most used payment method in the Netherlands, essential for local buyer trust
Single vendor cart — buyers needed to add multiple vinyl listings from the same seller and check out in one transaction rather than separately
PostNL shipping integration — automated shipping label generation and tracking for peer-to-peer vinyl orders across the Netherlands
All three needed to work seamlessly within the existing Sharetribe transaction flow without breaking the platform
Our Approach
We integrated iDeal alongside the existing payment methods, giving Dutch buyers their preferred and most trusted checkout option. For the cart experience, we built a single vendor cart system allowing buyers to add multiple listings from the same seller and complete one unified checkout — significantly reducing friction for multi-item vinyl purchases.
The PostNL shipping integration was connected directly into the transaction flow — generating shipping labels automatically when an order is placed, and providing tracking information to both buyer and seller. All three extensions were delivered within 2 weeks without disrupting the existing platform.
