Project overview
Loop Costumes is a peer-to-peer costume marketplace connecting buyers and sellers across the US and Canada. The platform needed a set of powerful extensions to handle the complexity of physical product transactions — shipping automation, product variants, multi-item checkout, live chat support, and advanced analytics that Sharetribe doesn't offer out of the box.
We delivered all extensions in 3 weeks, resulting in a platform with 1,000+ costume listings and 900+ buyers actively transacting.
The Challenges
Loop Costumes required a significant set of custom extensions to handle physical product sales at scale — none available natively in Sharetribe.
Shippo shipping integration — automated shipping label generation and rate calculation for US and Canada orders
Shippo webhook integration — real-time shipping status updates pushed back into the platform for buyers and sellers
Variant management — costumes needed size variants within a single listing
Single vendor cart — buyers needed to add multiple costumes from the same seller and check out in one transaction
Tawk live chat — real-time buyer support embedded directly into the platform
Google Analytics revenue tracking — custom GA implementation for transaction revenue tracking, not available out of the box in Sharetribe
Admin panel CSV export — custom admin tool for generating CSV reports with custom fields for inventory and order management
Our Approach
We integrated Shippo directly into the Sharetribe transaction flow — automating shipping label generation when an order is placed and connecting Shippo webhooks to push real-time tracking updates back to both buyer and seller without any manual intervention.
Variant management was built to allow sellers to create listings with multiple size options — keeping the catalogue clean while giving buyers the flexibility they need. The single vendor cart was implemented to allow buyers to add multiple costumes from the same seller and complete one unified checkout, significantly reducing drop-off on multi-item purchases.
Tawk live chat was embedded for real-time support, and a custom Google Analytics revenue tracking implementation was built via code — capturing transaction revenue data that Sharetribe's native analytics doesn't expose. Finally, a custom admin panel CSV export tool was built, giving the platform operator full control over inventory and order data with custom fields tailored to their operations.
